How soon after Steam Cleaning should you put furniture back in it's place? The floor doesn't feel very wet at all, just a teeeeeny bit damp, so we were wondering when we should set the chairs and bookshelf back into place.

When steam cleaning floors they should be dry to the touch before replacing furniture as furniture legs can leave rust and marks on floor when it is wet or damp and if your floor is wet this could possibly damage the furniture  when not completely dry. When in a hurry and not possible to wait drying time Tin Foil can be placed on bottom of the legs of furniture until dry you can also use old socks while floor is drying, or to facilitate faster drying place a fan or two on both ends of room to speed dry floor Good Luck !

Do you mean carpet??  The carpet should be quite dry but most people just put something under the furniture legs  for a day until the carpet is totally dry and then lift the furniture just enough to pull out the barrier.  

Drying time varies with type of carpet and atmospheric humidity.  If you have a fan, turn it on to blow over the carpet to speed dry.  You should n't be walking on a damp carpet either.  Can you hold off until tomorrow? Otherwise, use little protectors....aluminium foil for example under the furniture legs.

I use small squres ofsame carpet under the weight bearing parts of heavy furniture, bit fiddly. Blokes are good at that
