  1. give them as long as you  can bare considering if the babys lose there scent the mother may eat them or not take care of them

  2. I would wait a day or so, but you dont have to wait a week.

Guinea pigs do not eat their babies and the mom will allow you to pick them up, so clean the cage whenever you think it needs to be cleaned. You need to get them used to human hands and to figure out their gender because the males should be seperated from females at 21 days.

  3. Just make sure the mommy and babies are comfortable with you doing so.And DONT believe the so-called rodentologist who put another answer here that said the mother will eat the babies if you touch them. That is what hamsters do.Touching a hamster's babies will make the mother eat the babies because of the scent.Guinea pigs rarely act like this and if mommy is good with you she won't act negatively to the scent you leave on her babies.

  4. I would probably clean it as soon as possible, like a day or two afterwards depending on how bad it is. As long as the mother and babies are ok with you handling them and moving them to clean it then I would.

  5. no wait untill about a week or two has passed

  6. as you can handle the piggies straight away then it really doesnt matter how soon you clean the cage, piggies are NOT like other rodents that will eat the young if they have been touched. as soon as the female has had a rest after the birth, and she has cleaned the babies then its absolutely fine to clean them out, this also gives you a chance to check the babies over and make sure they are all ok,and to see if they are boys or girls

  7. You shoulod prolly give it about a week, because taking the babies out of the cage to clean it can be harmfull, because they are young, and still very fragile. Plus the mother is tired. Give it about a week, and make sure you carefully remove her, and her babies.
