Question:

How soon after a miscarriage should you get your periods?

I had a miscarriage on the 1st of this month and had what i thought was my period for 4 days.It was really heavy the first 2 days and then it slowed down. Was that still the miscarriage or was that a period.

My friend told me that it was the body clearing it all.

The reason why i am asking this is because i had s*x with my husband last night as i thought it was safe to because it was 7 days since my period and i could not fall pregnant in that time because i would not be ovulating.

If it was not my period when should i get it?

Thankyou

  1. So it was an early miscarriage then if you thought it was your period? In answer to your question after a miscarriage you can ovulate spontaneously straight away, or later than usual or the normal time or whenever. It messes your body up a bit depending how pregnant you were. I ovulated 19 days after the start of the bleeding from my early miscarriage, we were trying to get pregnant and I did get pregnant again before having my period.

  2. Okay, anytime your body is in any kind of turmoil IS NOT the time to have unprotected s*x.  Your hormones are all over the place, there is no way to tell when you will ovulate or when you will get your next period.

I would say, unless you are trying to get pregnant, do not risk having s*x without birth control.
