Question:

How soon after conception can medicines a mom takes affect the baby?

I have a bad cold and want to take Nyquil to sleep, but we are ttc and I could be pregnant at any time. If I am pregnant now, I would only be at the stage where the baby would be not yet implanted, or recently implanted.

Is it still safe to take medicine, or would it reach the baby at this point? Thanks!

  1. The first couple of weeks are the most crucial during an embryos development.  If I were you, I would stick to taking tylenol meds (they are safe during pregnancy) to help alleviate your symptoms.

  2. Don't take that stuff. Better safe than sorry.

Drink some nice peppermint tea. =)
