  1. where did you get them from ? sounds as if they weren't socailised at all when being brought up.

Kittens should be confident and bold.. Thye should be encourgaed to explore and should be human friendly.

You can handle but picking up timid kittens and giving them a cuddle might just send them scatty. if they are that timid that the cowar you will need to do things slowly.. encourage them to come to you .. coax the with food and cat toys .. you will need to interact with them and gain their trust .,

  2. we got 9 week old kittens and we were touching them straight away, they were scared at first, but theyre not going to learn to become all cuddly and stuff if you dont touch them... we play with them everyday and they sleep on the bed with us and everything :D

  3. you can handle them right after they are born!

  4. Touch them... that socializes them... they MUST be handled a lot in order for them to be cuddlers when they grow up ...or you will end up with a cat that doesn't want you to touch it!  = not good

  5. You can handle them as soon as they are born but try not to to much, otherwise the mother may refuse to feed them.

  6. Sit down in the middle of the floor and I bet they will come to you. Sit quietly, don't make a loud noise but talk to them. Bribe them with a little baby food if you've got it or get a string or ball of paper for them to chase. They will be climbing on you before you know it.

  7. They need time to explore their new home (probably just one room) and if you just sit down on the floor quietly they will come to check you out along with their new surroundings. It may be less threatening to them if only one human is involved with them at a time. Try to gently pet them before actually trying to pick them up.  If you are peaceful and calm while you feed them by hand it can also help them become less afraid of you.  Just be patient and give them some time to get used to you.  I'm sure they will warm up to you within a few days. At ten weeks of age they are certainly old enough to be handled.  Good Luck!

  8. Straight away! You need to get them used to being handled as soon as possible, else it will lead to problems later on. Using food to encourage them to eat out of your hand is a good way to start building trust, then just go from there. Kittens will tend to become more confident as they settle in to their new home anyway so dont be dissapointed if progress is slow for a few days.
