How soon after getting a Mirena IUD inserted can you wear a tampon?

I just got my Mirena IUD inserted an hour ago. The doctor wanted me to get it done during my period, so my flow is rather heavy today. Usually I wear tampons but since I got the IUD inserted I was going to wear pads this time. However, I wore two overnight pads and they leaked, so I inserted a tampon. I put in an OB tampon.

Is this okay, do you think?? I know you can eventually use tampons again, but is it okay the day of the insertion?? THANKS!!

it is okay, or nobody would get the Mirena IUD inserted.
