recommendation, but want to hear some real world answers. Most would wait, but I understand some women develop a concern about being s**y, want to reassure themselves.

Don't worry, I know this is certainly an individual decision. And no, I'm not with someone and impatient.

  1. I was 7 weeks with my first child because i had some stiches. With my second i believe it was 6. It was painful too the first time. So be prepared.

  2. We tried it at 5 weeks but it hurt me too bad. We waited until 9 weeks after birth to try again and it was fine. =0) its true, i guess you need that time to heal.

  3. I had my six week check at the doctors, and i went straight on the pill again, and  think we had s*x a week later. Just be careful, its easy to fall again!

  4. I didn't wait the full 6 weeks and I believe I made the wrong decision! It was very very painful and plus, some women could still be healing and bleeding (just being honest) There's more then one reason why they reccomend you wait. But it is a personal decision.

  5. at my 6 wk check up i was still ripped open and bleeding and still needing stitches....

i definately wasn't thinking about s*x.  it hurt too much to think about wiping!

    we're all different.

i have a friend who went to her 6 wk appt and found out she was pregnant again . . .

  6. Textbook is 4-6 weeks post partum.  The reason being that your vaginal canal has small tears in them from stretching to accommodate the baby as well as your cervix.  Putting anything in there risks infection. Plus the added swelling, and possible stitches does not make for good s*x.  There is also a great chance of getting pregnant.  I have heard of some women waiting only two weeks or once they stop bleeding.  To each his own.  I waited until my 6 week check up to make sure everything was ok, got on birth control and went for it.  If you worried about not feeling s**y or your partner needs some attention there are always alternate activities, use your imagination and good luck.

  7. I was 6wks when we attempted it with our first child but my stiches hadnt fully healed so we had to put it off until 9wks.

With our 2nd child we waited till 4wks, I had no stiches and was fine with it.

I'm 3wks post partum now and I have no clue if we'll wait till 6wks or not.

  8. i know i will get thumbs down for this but here goes. with my first i bled for 8 weeks so i waited the whole 8 weeks. with the second i waited 4 weeks and with the third only 10 days (i stopped bleeding early lol). obviously this has not done me any harm as Im currently 24 and a bit weeks pregnant with number 4. yes its does make you feel sexier when you have s*x esp if you still feel like a whale with leaky b*****s!! i had a forceps delivery with number one and tore with 2 and 3 so had stitches with number 2 (not number3)

  9. I always waited at least the six weeks recommended by my doctor. The first time afterwards isn't usually very much fun. It can be quite uncomfortable, so I never looked forward to it much. As for my husband, he was taken care of, so he didn't mind waiting.

  10. hi

with my first child i waited the full 6weeks after purely because i was cautious after given birth. but with my second child recently born i only waited 3weeks.

i know 6weeks is recommended but at the end of the day its whenever you feel ready to do it xx
