I think that I am going to start either tonight or tomorrow. I can feel it coming on. Anyway, my doc is going to start me on clomid in the next couple of days. When after the pd do start using opk's. I have never used them before and have no idea how. Any advice or tips on using them. This is my second month of clomid and I really want this to be our month. Good luck to you all out there that are ttc.

  1. I have PCOS so I saw a fertility specialist in order to get pregnant--I was on clomid for 10 months which did not work for me and then I got switched to Letrozole which is what worked for me--my fertility dr recommended that I get a Digital Ovulation predictor kit ($40 at wal-greens)...it is best to use the test right away in the morning when you have not peed in a while. I am so glad I got the digital ovulation predictor kit --so easy to read!!! Start testing on day 11 or 12 of your cycle and test until you get a positive reading if you do not get a positive reading by like day 18 or 20 stop testing as chances of you ovulating that late is pretty slim---once you get a positive reading, stop testing for the month and have s*x that day and the next 2 days in a row (so,  yes 3 days in a row)..stay laying down for atleast 15-30 min after s*x...good luck to you!!!

  2. Here is the Sperm Meet Egg Plan:

    1. Buy 10 OPK tests PRIOR to cycle day 10

    2. Starting on cycle day 10, do one OPK test EVERY DAY

    3. Babydance (BD) EVERY OTHER DAY starting on cycle day 10 (hips elevated for 10-30 minutes after each BD session)

    4. When you get a +OPK, babydance that day and the next 2 days in a row (so 3 days in a row total)

    5. Skip one night and baby dance once more the next day

    6. Take a home pregnancy test (HPT) 15 days after the day you ovulated (or most of you will start taking your HPTs at 10-12dpo!)

So there you have it. Simple formula... lotsa work. I've read that up to 40% of post-miscarriage women will get pregnant on their first try if they are faithful to the plan, about double the number of the normal population who are not on the plan. This assumes, however, that you are indeed ovulating every cycle.

EDIT: Oh I forgot to add that CD1 is the first day of your menstrual period (heavy flow - not just spotting). Good luck!
