  1. Credit reports are updated periodically by the creditors with whom you have accounts with. In my experience it usually takes about a month for payment history updates to be made.

    If your credit report has not been updated within a month, or if you would like it updated sooner, you can contact the credit reporting agencies and request that they verify the amount on an account. After receiving such a request, the credit bureau will contact your creditor and ask for a status update. This process usually takes two weeks to complete.
