  1. you need to get through airborne school and then you have to get through the ranger entry program the you can attend ranger school.

  2. Someone correct me if I am wrong but from talking with a Ranger from 2nd BN who was in SERE with me, the Ranger Option contract means you are given a shot at RIP. Upon completion of RIP, you get assigned to one of the Ranger Battalions out at Benning (3rd BN), Lewis (2nd BN) or Hunter Army Airfield (1st BN). You will serve some time at that BN before they determine whether or not to send you to Ranger School. The guy I knew did two deployments with 2nd Ranger BN before he got to start Ranger School.

And you don't have to be Airborne qualified to go to Ranger School. But you do have to be Airborne qualified to be in the Ranger Regiment.

  3. YOU need jump qualified, air -assault,pathfinder then operational experience & baptism under fire (combat) in Iraq or Afghanistan before you can be even considered for Ranger/SF schools.

  4. If Ranger School isnt in your contract, I suggest you talk with a ranger recruiter on base.

To become ranger, you must get through the entry program for rangers. If you get through that, you'll advance to Ranger School.

There are no qualification prerequisits (air assault, airborne, ect) to join. Only a physical fitness level

  5. I dont know how- sorry i but i wanted to say good luck.

My husband is in BCT for airborne infantry and hopes to become a ranger soon too.

    :]
