  1. Did you add water conditioners, you have to wait 2-3 days for the tank to cycle with the conditioners.

  2. The water is probably cold so over night is good.

  3. since it got gravel I usually do transfer it in a week.  however if your planning to add new fish with an existing fish always quarantine the new fish before adding it to the main tank quarantine for 3 to 4 weeks.

  4. If you put some friendly bacteria in (Nutrafin Cycle) then 2-3 days. Put one fish in then leave it a week before putting in more.

  5. leave the tank for 2 days after putting the special

    liquid stuff then

put the fishes in a plactic bag and tie it

then put the bag in the new tank hovering in the water for 30mins then cut the bag and let the fish slowly so in to the tank after u can take the bag out .

hope this helps xx >.< i have had a lot of coldwater fish.

  6. About 1 week, even if you put conditioner in. If  it is larger than 30 gallons, than add an additional week. Test your water at the local petstore. if it is high ammonia, than reduce it by putting in a filter bag that reduces ammonia. float the fish in a plastic bag filled with air and only a little bit filled with water, than float it for 30 min so that your fish won't die of shock. Don't feed them for 2 days, and don't rearrange anything so that they won't be stressed.

  7. if you transfer everything from the old tank to the new one, you can put them in right away

    empty out that tank again

put the gravel, water and filter into the new one, including the fish

    turn on the new filter

and add new conditioned water to fill up the tank completely

this will act just as a bigger water change

and your fish will be absolutely fine

after about 2-3 weeks you can remove the old filter

the old filter helps to bridge the time it takes the new filter to establish good bacteria on the filter media

  8. A good filter will cycle in about 2 weeks. To start the cycle do a water change on your small tank and put the used water into the new tank, that should get the "cycle" started. Also depending on the size of the tank and number of fish, you may start adding them sooner eg if you have 50 litres per fish you can add some after a week, if not wait 2 weeks, and every 2-3 days add some used water from the old tank into the new.
