  1. "Please don't lecture me about getting them fixed"  yeah well too d**n bad.  You basically are sentencing your ***** and the litter she produces to death.  But fine I won't say anything other than that.  Have fun staying up night after night hand feeding the pups... get a life.

ADD: so I should expect to see you in a little asking "The mom won't feed the puppies what do I do!?"  there another fair warning.

  2. Well, you asked for it by not getting them fixed and not making absolutely sure you knew when her heat cycle started. She could potentially be pregnant if she's in heat and they mated. From now on...keep track of her heat cycles..they're generally about 6 months apart, if you notice her v***a is swollen, keep the two separated. And for christ's sake, learn to spay and neuter your d**n pets...didn't you watch "The Price is Right"?

No, but if you payed attention and knew anything about females beginning heat, you'd know a few weeks before she started heat. And you need to go to a better vet, I've never met a vet that suggested waiting until after the first heat.

  3. It is best to skip the first heat and let her get pregnant on the 2nd heat.  Try to keep them away from each other.  I dont think it will hurt her if she gets pregnant on the first heat.

  4. If you do NOT want to be lectured, then please do not post a question such as this that shows nothing but pure IGNORANCE AND STUPIDITY.  Dogs of this age should be fixed.  This is irresponible to allow something like this to occur.

Please have them neutered and spayed.  A 7 to 9 month year old female is still a little girl.

It is the owners responsibility to FIX their dogs........asap!

  5. She is way way too young to get pregnant and yes she could be possibly pregnant. Who knows what went on when you weren't watching your dogs, they may have tied when you weren't watching them.

Besides she is way too too young to be having puppies. She is just a baby.

  6. Yes, your dog can get pregnant although it is unhealthy to allow breeding her before she is two years old because her reproductive system still hasn't become fully developed.  And I'm sorry, but if you're asking this question on here, you really shouldn't breed them.  If you're looking into breeding, do research BEFORE.  There is a lot that you need to do if you're going to be responsible about it.

  7. you shouldnt let your female get pregnant untill she is around 2 years old because otherwise her body isnt developed enough to cope.

  8. Yes - don't wait to find out get her spayed. Too bad another lecture right here and now. Neither of your dog is of age to be properly health/genetically screened. Unless you have a really great job or are independently wealthy or a stay at home mom you will not have the time or the money to raise your dog's litter if you decide to do the IRRESPONSIBLE thing and let her have it.

    What may happen

    -stunted growth in your *****

    -death

-death of the pups in utero

-death of the pups from being rejected, or killed by the *****

You had no business leaving two intact animal of opposite s*x around each other let alone when your ***** is in the right time frame to enter her first heat. Get both of your animals fixed unless you want to have to explain to your son why one of his dogs DIED

ADD: well your vet is a nut. There is NO reason to let her have her first heat. That doesn't excuse why your male is unfixed.

  9. Yes your dog could very well be pregnant, they may have mated while you weren't watching them.

A female dog can get pregnant as early as their first heat cycle, although it is VERY unhealthy.

They should be fixed, because you are obviously an irresponsible dog owner, much less a breeder. If you chose to continue to be an irresponsible dog owner and not spay or neuter, and you don't plan to become a breeder, then you must watch your female VERY closely when she's in heat. Do NOT leave her unattended outside OR with your male.

DO NOT let her be alone with your male at ANYTIME right now, because if she does get pregnant on this heat cycle, she could have some serious and expensive complications.

  10. there's almost no risk of mammatory cancer if spayed BEFORE the first heat.

and WHY get a female with an intact male unless you're intent on ignorant breeding?

or adding to the overpopulated shelters?

THANKS!! for making my job harder.

EDIT: AGREED!! you need a new vet.

  11. They may not have tied when your son saw them, but they may have tied another time.  She could be pregnant, your vet can help you.  At 7-9 months old, your female is much too young to be pregnant.  It can be very unhealthy for her.

  12. Yes, she can be pregnant without a tie, in heat, at seven months. How soon can you tell? As soon as you take her to the vet and ask.

Don't want a lecture? Too bad. You need one.

If your dog was to get pregnant now, and have puppies, the puppies would die and she would either die or be left with serious health problems.

Four million dog die in shelters. Four million. Those dogs came from people like you - people who don't care enough about their dogs and the entire population. You might think that you'll "just have one litter", but if the offspring are brought into more irresponsible ownership, that one litter can turn into hundreds of puppies from continued breeding.

The only people who should have unfixed are those who know what they're doing and are trying to improve the breed, or showing the dog. If you want to breed, your dog should be a prime example of the breed - that means she should be shown to the champion level and screened for genetic tests.

The mere fact that you're answering this question tells me that you have no idea what you're doing. By allowing your dogs to be unfixed, you are risking contributing to the overpopulation and putting more poorly bred and raised dogs on the market, risking your dogs getting ovarian or testicular cancer, and risking the health and safety of your dogs by allowing them to breed so young.

My advice would be to take your female dog, get her aborted (if she's pregnant) and get her spayed, and neuter your male dog.

  13. Get those two dogs away from each other NOW!  If you let her get pregnant that young both her and her puppies will be in danger!

  14. At least get her a dog diaper or something and don't just let the guy hump her because if they get stuck then she's most likely going to be pregnant. Dogs need to be over 2 years before they mate, any younger could kill the mother and her puppies. You can tell if later on her nipples get swollen and her belly starts to grow and if her attitude changes. Keep them apart and don't let her outside alone. Commen sense.
