  1. the shots r for like raibies and stuff so they dont get infections and all sorts of stuff..u need to give ur dog shots once a year at the vet.

  2. A puppy should have their first shots when they are 6 weeks

  3. Hi, Puppies should have injections for parvovirus,Distemper,Hepatitis, and Influenza, preferably done before mixing with other dogs so they dont contract anything. The injections should be one at 6-8 weeks, then 10-12 weeks then 14-16 weeks and  then 1 every year for the rest of their lives.

  4. a puppies first vaccines should be started at 6 weeks of age and then repeated every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks of age.  puppies are vaccinated for parvo, distemper, adenovirus, corona (sometimes), lepto (sometimes), bordetella (sometimes), and rabies.

  5. You can start vaccines on puppies at 6 weeks of age.  The reason you can not before is because they still have immunities from their mother from nursing.  The first shots they will get will be in a series(which means that they will get several vaccines every three weeks up until at least 12-15 weeks of age.  The first vaccine will be distemper/parvo combo and possibly a bordatella vaccine(this will keep them from getting the upper repiratory infection - most commonly known as kennel cough - this is an airborne virus).  You can, however, start giving them some dewormer(strongid) starting at 2 weeks of age 1 x every 2 weeks- this will help rid of hookworms and roundworms which all puppies and kittens are born with.  Good luck with your puppy
