How soon do you have to take Plan B & how to get it?

I've read about the morning after pill or the Plan B pill and was just wondering how I would get it? I had s*x a day ago and I've read you have to take it within 72 hours for it to be effective, so quick answers are a must! I'm 16 years old.

Also, is there a way to get the Plan B pill without having to have a parent or guardian be there? I want to tell my mom that I'm sexually active, but I don't think that telling her I need Plan B is the right way to.

  1. you have to take it as soon as possible.  it decreases effectiveness the longer you hold off, even if you do get it within the 72 hours.

you have to be 18 to get it from a pharmacy.  they'll ask for id.

you can try planned parenthood in your area.

but honestly, your mom being mad cause she had to buy plan b is a lot better than her being mad because you're pregnant.

if your boyfriend is 18, make him get it.  or if you have any friends that are 18 ask them to

    it'll cost around 50 dollars

*edit:  yes.  if you vomit, the pill will lose effectiveness.  so you have to keep it down.

the package comes with two pills.  you take one immediately, the other one 12 hours later.  if you take it 12 hours later, it should lessen some of the effects.

not everyone works the same way.  some people will feel sick to their stomachs, some will feel like they've been beaten with baseball bats, and some people won't really feel anything.

condoms break.  you should use backups (if you dont' want to use pills) such as the contraceptive sponge.

  2. You can go to planned parenthood. You don't need a parent with you. Just expect to wait a while if you don't call ahead and make an appointment. Go to thier website, select your location, and then search for Plan B, it will have all the info you need.

  3. These are very dangerous and should not be used as a method of birth control.  s*x was designed for procreation not just to have fun.  If you are not ready for a child then maybe you should say you are not ready for s*x.

  4. Call your local pharmacy. I know it is available over the counter but I don't know how old you have to be.

Just make the phone call and if you have to be 18, see if you can find a friend of a friends sister to get it for you.

You should have a conversation with you mom but you are probably right, now is not the time.

WARNING! I helped my friend get the pill once before it was available with out an RX. The Dr. told her to eat a few crackers then take the first pill then GO TO BED. It is likely to make you sick to your stomach and if you vomit the pill it is all over. No redo's allowed.

    good luck

  5. You can get it at Wal Greens in the pharmacy and you can still take it today. You have three days after the time you had s*x.

  6. Well you need to be 18 so maybe is your boyfriend older.

Otherwise i think you need a parent sig.

Next time use protection and you wn't have to worry.
