I have 4 cards with balances on them and will be paying them off next month. How soon will that reflect on my credit score? These cards have been open for a year.

  1. i would assume that you should see a improvement in your credit score after 30 days. That gives the credit card companies time to report the $0 balance to the credit card companies

  2. As soon as the credit card companies report to the credit bureaus.

  3. It doesn't happen over night but the most credit card companies report to the credit bureaus every 30 days. So the more times they report a zero or near zero balance your score will slowly but surely start going up.

  4. I recently paid my credit cards off (3 of them).  At the end of the month, when it was reported to the credit bureau, my credit score went up dramatically.  I was told it was because my percentage of available credit skyrocketed from 45% to 87.25%.  Good Luck, its a great feeling to see the new score.  And mine is still going up!!
