How soon prior to the wedding, should you buy the corsages and boutonnieres? We are using fresh flowers.

My wedding is at the end of this month.

You should order them from the florist at least 4 weeks, preferably 6 weeks, in advance for delivery the day of the wedding.  Sometimes they have to "force" something to bloom on time due to problematical weather, or there can other shipping & supply problems.  Also corsages need to be made up and they need to plan manpower to make them, plus the supplies, schedule delivery times and coordinate it all with whatever other weddings they are booked for.  

I hope you are not planning on anything exotic that has to be shipped in, or you could face disappointment waiting until the last minute like this.

Check with your florist to see how far in advance they have to be ordered. The flowers are usually delivered the morning of the wedding.

You should be able to pay for them at anytime and then have them delivered fresh for the wedding.  Tell the florist when you want them, he will tell you how long it will take him to get it together and tell you what you need to pay him when.

Have you consulted with a florist yet?  If not, do so immediately!  A florist will have wanted to meet with you prior to the wedding to discuss your flower choices and your budget.

This doesn't mean that you need to get ALL of your flowers through a florist.  You don't say if you are having bouquets or not.  I am assuming you are and that you are making them yourself?  If you are, and you are simply wanting corsages and bouts from a particular florist, that is fine also.  But, I would still go and meet with a florist to discuss price and how many you need so that you can be assured you get what you want when you need them!

you can order them anytime.the florist will need time to get thhe flowers needed for the wedding however the flowers will not be made till the day before

You should probably order them ASAP but then pick them up the day before. Store them in a cold place (obviously).
