How soon should i call after i apply someplace?

i applied at hot dog on a stick last week...and i talked to the assistant manager a few days before that..and he seemed interested. then when i came back a couple days later with my app i gave it to just some team member and he said they would call...and they haven't. do they wait and see if you're interested enough to call them? or do they eventually call?

always call the next day or with in 24 hours and ask for the person who does the hiring and ask him or her if they got your application and ask them if they have any questions. then after their done thank them for their time
