How soon should you send invitations to a birthday party sleepover?

My daughter is having a pool party/sleepover at a hotel on August 23. How soon should we send out invitations? I have never sent any before. Do you think the first week of August is too early? Thanks!

I would send them earlier rather than later.  The kids will put the date on the calendar anyway.  Also August is holiday season so giving more notice is preferable anyway.

I would even send them out now! That is just around the corner, and people are going to be making plans for August. If you think this week is too soon....maybe wait until the last week of July, but I wouldn't wait until August. Regular birthday parties that just  last a couple of hours can usually be sent with just 1 1/2- 2 weeks notice...but this is a sleepover. Parents need time to plan.

No more than 1 week in advance, otherwise the kids will forget.     I'd send the invitations so that the kids get them on the Monday before the sleepover.  

If you choose to send them the first of August, then you'll need to call a couple of days before the party to "remind" everyone.
