My sis is having a baby at the very end of Nov. and we're wondering how soon you can take a newborn out into the cold? In your opinion is it ok right away as long as they're bundled up? Or are there any facts that say when is the right time. Thanks in advance :)

  1. Right away is fine as long as they are bundled up. The only thing to be careful of is RSV and cold and flu season (Oct.-May for many areas). Newborns should not be out in public for the first couple of months because of the weak immune systems.

  2. They will be out in the cold within days of being born - they need to get home ;-)  My daughter was born in March (cold here in March) and besides the ride home from the hospital we also took her for a walk in our neighborhood in her buggy a few days after getting home.

Make sure to bundle up and have a hat on the baby.

  3. I have three winter babies and I believe that they just need to be bundled up.

  4. I had my daughter dec.9 and we took her out when she was a week I also live in bc tho so it doesn't get very cold here. I think its ok to take a newborn outside just as long as they are bundled up!

  5. it's totally fine as long as the baby is dressed for the weather :)
