They won't, Russia timed this maneuver to come when the American government is least able to deal with the situation militarily.

I expect the whole thing is a charade to use as a bargaining chip elsewhere.  The Russians don't care *that* much about the South Ossetians, or even their own citizens (see; Nord-Ost siege).

Russia wasnt threatened. Why would such small country as Georgia would need to threaten Russia. And what help are u talking about ckinvali is destroyed thanx to Russian bombers. And why did Russian air plains attack other citys, we didn't invade Russia though. The war is in borders of Georgia not Russia.
