  1. He's moving 2 brigades to Afghanistan. Funny how the anti-war people are now "for" a war in a different country.

  2. Obama is not talking about troop withdrawal. He is talking about removing combat troops from Iraq, and leaving a residual force there. He has no timetable for removing the residual force, but we have had residual forces in Germany and Korea for more than half a century.

In addition, he wants to add MORE troops to Afghanistan, and either invade or bomb Pakistan. I do not call that "troop withdrawal".

Obama is not George McGovern. He is not running on a peace platform.Rather, he is running on a platform of troop re-allocation and expansion of our forces into other countries.

  3. Immediately...thank the Heaven's for that!

  4. Obama have said he would like to have them all out in 16 month after he become president , Bush and the iraq president agree with Obama on this time table so that leave McCain poor judgment on this issue out there all along

  5. He will wave his magic wand and :::::poof:::: our troops will be out and  Iraq will be safe and peaceful once again.  Iran will grovel before him on its knees and beg his forgiveness for their naughtiness.  Bin Laden will magically disappear, all threats of civil war in Pakistan will dissipate, nuclear weapons will self-destruct, and there will be peace and harmony in the world.  And then our alarm clocks will go off and we'll wake up.

  6. The Question isn't when it begins but when it actually ends.

I think Obama's current plan for a "responsible" withdraw does not get everyone out until 2010. And that's just the "combat" troops. There is some vague stuff about a base and a "strike force" for "emergencies".

I wonder what kind of strike force ISN'T made of combat troops.

Of Course, this plan could be subject to change. One of the Speakers at the Demo National Convention promised that we'd stay in Iraq as long as Al Queda was there. This is pretty funny if you think about it since Al Queda only went to Iraq after we invaded. I am pretty sure Al Queda intends to stay in Iraq as long as the U.S. Military is there. (just a hunch)

If Iraq is your main reason for supporting the Democrats,, I would be feeling really hosed if I were you.

Wasn't Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Congress supposed to have curbed this Iraq thing back in 2006?

But I'm sure there are more important issues to be concerned about.

/YES WE CAN / HOPE/ for/ CHANGE/ on some of those other issues.

  7. Sixteen months depending on conditions on the ground.

  8. He wont change the plan they are making now.

If Iraq, and the us agree on a 2011 withdrawal, Obama is not going to change that. So he will be lying to you...

  9. within sixteen months

  10. 2012 when he leaves Office. That's IF he gets elected.

But heck he will just pull those troops out and Redirect them to Afghanistan.

  11. Immediately and he quoted that within 16 months they should all be out of Iraq.

  12. It will take a while.  Troop withdrawal and relocation of troops needs to be well planned.

  13. Well for starters he will still be a senator. So he can recommend a withdrawal. He needs to call president McCain and try to convince him to get out of Iraq.

  14. 2010

  15. the day he gets in

  16. Not soon enough

  17. He wont. He'll follow what being done now.

And when they're done in Iraq - send 'em right to Darfur.

  18. Right after h**l freezes over.

  19. It should begin relatively quickly.  Bush has now agreed to the withdrawal.  I'm sure military personnel are already preparing plans.

ft lauderdale: Obama and the Dems aren't "anti war". We are anti WRONG war...as in Iraq.
