Question:

How soon would you say my son is to walking?

He's a year old now, but starting "cruising" at the end of his 8th month. He currently can walk w/ help using just one of my fingers. He crawls well, pulls himself up, but can't stand on his own w/o holding onto something. He's a very tall lil guy w/ a bigger head...so, I'm wondering if that might affect his balance. Not only that, but he walks very fast and changes direction quickly. Based on that and in comparison to your own children (I know all kids are different and blah, blah, blah) how much longer do you think it'll be until he's walking completely on his own?

  1. There's no way of knowing.  My son was the same way and he is 12 months and still cruising.

Yours could up and walk tomorrow...or in a couple weeks...or in a couple more months.  It's pretty unpredictable.

  2. after my son got that stage , it was a matter of a couple weeks . once he got the courage to do it , he was all the over the place .

  3. Kids are all different. My first daughter started walking properly on her own at 10 month whilst my younger daughter started walking around furniture at 12 month but wasn't walking properly on her own until about 17 months. They just do it at their own pace.

  4. Id say a few months they learn pretty quick lol

  5. Any day now...enjoy ur just being able to sit there or do something w/o baby between ur legs cause as soon as he figures out how to, its over!!!  lol! now my son is all over the place running here and running there. i cant just sit anywhere and just watch him roll around like the old days..lol. Its a whole new world for him AND you. its soo fun but will be exhausting. I love my little walker and he follows me everywhere or pushes me around to get me to pick him up...its so cute!!! good luck and I'm sure it WILL be any day!!!

  6. it should be comming soon in the next month or so

  7. This might be fun to try.  My friend had a daughter who could only walk hanging on to something, like your son hangs on to your finger.  They gave her a plain clothes pin to hang onto, and she went all over the place, it was just in her head that she needed to hang on!!
