How sore is getting a tooth extracted without the freeze?

I had a reaction to dental freeze a while back and i have been waiting to get a dental appointment for the hospital to get my tooth extracted so they can put me to sleep but my tooth is now really sore so when i go to dentist tomorrow i will tell him to take it out but am reluctant to get him to freeze half my head and tongue so i dont have another reaction and was just wondering how sore it would be without the freeze if anyone has been brave enough to have it done or any other help you might have

my niece did it because she had a fear of needles(the nutter) but she was only 11 years old so was a back baby tooth with not much root.but it was sore as she now lets them give her an injection when she has to get fillings.
