How strict is arnis (sport) when it comes to scoring?

Here are sites that have official rules in competitions, one of them is Bakbakan international http://www.bakbakan.com/ and WEKAF http://www.wekafusa.org/.

Bakbakan rules usually for example has very strict guidelines, 1 point for arms and 2 points for head.

Also allot of tournaments would not have the same scoring method. In the Philippines you must get a 'real' hit ( must have a big smack) not just a tap on the target.
