  1. If you look over 16 you will probably get in.

Answer-- if you want to get in, you will.

Now as far as other rules, like Dress code ect ect.. that you would have to doublecheck with the club for.

I went to Italy when I was 17 and never even clame to close to having anyong asked to check my ID in bars or clubs...

  2. hey, my family lives there, i go every summer and i was kinda a bad kid, i used to get in clubs and bars when i was 14 and get served alchohol, which was bad, but to answer your question.. they are not very strict.

    have fun!!!

    ciao

  3. vary they wouldn,t let you have a drink of water without paying for it or without an i,d.

  4. BEWARE: "NIGHTCLUBS" in Italy do not have the same meaning as they do in English speaking countries.

"Nightclubs" are strip joints or hostess clubs over there and I know many people who have been caught out when asking taxi drivers for recommendations.

Discoteca or Discoteche Plural - (Discotech in English)  is the word to use in Italy or you might get some funny looks.

Todd is right. The minimum age law for entry to nightclubs in Italy is very lax. I have been going for the past 30 years and have seen kids under 10 buy alcohol at the bar without anyone battering an eyelid. Also seeing kids in discos with their parents. The entry age is 18 but this is very flexible. You might even get in for free in you are pretty enough.

You will know exactley what I mean after a visit to Italy.

Some good clubs in tuscany and viareggio below...

    Bon Viaggio!

  5. Not strict at all. I started clubbing in Italy when I was 14. The legal age is 16 but nobody cares.

  6. It depends on what you mean with "nightclub" since the English term may be used in Italy in different ways than in your Country: years ago they were only places when you could drink and eat while various artists were playing on a small stage (mainly singers, but not only); some years ago became also a place for soft erotics (strip-tease) or, better, with *also* soft erotics; nowadays "night club" is also how "s*x clubs" are called (place for not-so-soft erotic shows); "night club" the old way does still exist, anyway.

Perhaps you are looking for discos, the Italian word so is "discoteca".

Legal age for buying alcoholic drink is 16.
