How strictly inforced are drinking ages on the cruise ship?

We booked our christmas cruise this week, to go to Mexico & Belize, SO EXCITED!

There are 10 of us going, however there are 3 guys who are all 18 & 19. What is the liklyhood that they will be able to drink on board?

any information would be awesome, we are almost all new cruisers =)

Anyone under 21 can't legally drink on the ship due to the room/ID cards, but if someone else is 21, just have that person buy the drinks! Just make sure to have extra money on the over-age person's account to pay up at the end.

I just got back from a cruise last week and I never noticed anyone checking on those who were drinking.....the bartenders can tell because on my cruise, anyone under 21 had two holes punched in their ID cards, but I didn't see anyone going around checking on everyone who had a drink in their hand.

When I went, which was at the beginning of September 2007. The drinking ages were 18 when you got in the waters  b/c I think it had something to do with, you weren't in the United States you were in public waters or something, idk, but I got to drink so that's all that really mattered! lol. And there's no drinking age when you get to Mexico! But, I don't know if there is one for Belize. Good luck!

On board, very strictly.  In Mexico and Belize, no problem.

While you're on the ship, you use your key card as your ID and your charge card.  So bartenders always know if someone's under 21 when they try to buy a drink.
