How strong are rugby union players?

Hi I was just wondering how strong rugby players are. How strong would say a forwards be compared to the average person and which positions require the most strength.

  1. halfback is not always the weakest, usually just the smallest.. they're still pretty strong. i would say the winger or flyhalf would be the weakest.


  2. They can lift all sorts of weight and they can put other forwards on there backs. The loose head forwards can't lift as much weight but are still strong in tackling . So they are all very strong and fit. The halfback is usually the weakest smallest person.

  3. who is strongest depends on their build. I play rugby for club and they all do weights and stuff to increase their strength, backs need to be just as strong also because forwards cant run as fast as we backs can pass the ball so we make a fair few tackles on our own.

    who I weakest would depend on their overall body size
