Well i am struggeling with where the hydrogen entering the ETC comes from, what the ETC consists of, where it's located and at what stage it occurs in the two processes.

As well as role of electrons and protons in the synthesis of ATP and what happens to them in the end of the ETC....

I have a headache already just typing it down, can somebody help please...?

  2. Hi

I'm not quite sure about the ETC but i can explain the role of electrons and protons in the respiratory chain and ATP synthesis. Electrons are used in the respiratory chain to pump protons across the membrane into the intermembrane space. These protons enter the matrix again through a complex called the ATP synthatase. When protons move through the ATP synthatase it cause the gama shaft to rotate and beta subunits to change conformation generating ATP
