How stupid are petrol sales in UK?

so, all petrol stations in UK sell fuel by the litre.

cars do miles to the gallon (mpg).

road distances are all in miles.

how stupid is that?

    the european system is different.


  2. To be honest, I have no idea how many miles my car does to the mile, so it makes no difference to my life. Even if I knew what my car did when it was new, it'd make no difference to what it does now or how much petrol it needs to fill it up.

    I have a sophisticated system- make sure there's enough petrol in the tank so that it doesn't break down. Genius.

    Petrol prices have gone down recently, anyway. It's not all bad.
