How successful were you on the Weight Watchers point system? And how quickly? Any tips? ?

I am going to be starting the points system, and I am a little confused on it first of all. Do we select the range of the weight we are at now, or the weight we would like to be at? Any tips or comments would be helpful. Thanks.

  1. The points you get per day is determined by your current weight, gender, height, and age too I believe. I never went to meetings or anything, a friend just made me a copy of the foods list and the paper that showed how many points I would get. That was this past January. And YES I was successful! I stuck with it and started losing about 1-2 pounds a week. It really wasn't hard at all, I was highly motivated (big trip coming up in September) and viewed it as a healthy lifestyle change not a "diet". I exercised every day too. So back in January I weighed 180 (at 5'6) and this morning when I hopped on the scale it said 121!!! I can't even explain how much better I look and feel. And the entire way I look at food has changed for the better. I don't eat mindlessly anymore -  just because it's there or I'm bored. I still have yummy things like chocolate and cookies, but in moderation. So, yeah, if you stick with it it'll work. Remember to give yourself a "cheat day" every now and again....in fact one way I broke through a couple of plateaus was to eat more points than I usually did for a day. Sounds weird but it worked for me. Best Wishes!

I should SO be getting paid to say all this, right?? LOL

    It's true though =)
