How sucessfull has been the democratic system in the world?

how true is it? Countries which haf monarcy system think they haf no freedom, they must abide by the rules of the king, wat about the countries where monarcy system has been demolished did they get wat they wanted or they r still lokkin 4 true democracy?

the key here is not which form of government but how the system addresses the needs of the majority. people would always ask for the things that are due to them - security -- from birth to death, dignity as humans etc. if a political system falls short of the people's (majority) expectations then they would sure face a formidable force -the majority. its weight should be based on the  democratic dogmas "for the people, by the people and of the people" where "people" is the majority which is always not the ruling class.

The brit system is the laughing stock of the rest of the world. The brit press does not report anything critical of the royals, so the brits dont know what the rest of the world is saying about them. The house of lords is the goofiest institution on earth - a bunch or rotten aristocrats burning up government money to sit around and shoot the breeze, wearing wigs, and acting like the idiots they are. The aristocrats are so powerful, when tony blair tried to abolish the house of lords, he failed. All he could do was

root some of them out. As for the royals, they have one hand in every brit's pocket the other hand over every brit's mouth. So who's gonna get up and urge other brits to get rid of them?
