  1. Suger Cane Biogas is biodegradable. It can be gasified by bacterial action to produce methane. The gasifier used can be the same asthe one used for gobur gas production.

An alternate method could be to convert bagasse to cellulosic ethanol and then gasify it.

  2. Any material containing carbon can be gassified to produce syngas, a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoixide.  There are two primary processes to achieve this.  The first is partial oxidation using pure oxygen.  This is an exothermic process and thus is also a source of energy.  The second is via steam reforming, which reacts the material with water at high temperatures.  This is an endothermic process that requires an outside source of heat.  The syngas produced can be converted into methanol or various hydrocarbons (including gasoline and diesel fuels) or, the carbon monoxide can be reacted with additional water in a shift reactor to create carbon dioxide and more hydrogen.  The carbon dioxide can be removed using a number of processes and the hydrogen can be burned as fuel.

  3. Sugercane bagasses are base material for bio-mass based fuel as non-conventional energy source. The gassification process involves generation of Methane and Ethanol as bi-product. Methane is fuel gas and Ethanol is liquid fuel. Gasification process details can be had from any consulting engineer by paying the necessary free. It will not be provided to you free of cost.

  4. Brazil uses sugarcane in their flex-fuel, and has so since the 1970s.
