i was wondering if anyone could tell me how tall i will be....i know you cant predict it excactly but just a guess would be great!!

so here are the facts...

right now I am 14 years old and 5'3 (short i know!!) but the thing is my mommy is 5'8 and my daddy is 6'3 (they are both really tall!!) and all my cousins are really tall and my aunts and uncles and then both of my grandpas were really tall...at least 6 feet. the only short genes in my family are my grandmas (from both sides) and no one seems to have gotten their short genes...and i hope i didnt get them!! oh, also i have my period for a year and they say that you only grow like 2 more inches after that but I also have never had a growth spurt, i have steadily grow every single year...maybe like an inch a year so slow and steady

so is there any hope for being tall?!?!?

  1. If you could give me your weight or if you want, check out this website, it tells you what to put in and I don't know if it's accurate but try it:

  2. ask your mom or dad how tall you were when you were three-years-old.  my pediatrician told me that whatever height you are at three, you're supposed to double that and that will give you your height when you're done growing.  so say you were 3 feet tall - when you're done growing, it's predicted you will be 6 feet.  get it?

  3. my cousin was 5'3 at 14, and now she's 5'8... you may have a similar experience...

and you're lucky to get a nice height like that

  4. you'll be a good 5'6" if you exercise and sleep 7-8 hours a day.

  5. According to:

    http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/usefultoo...

    You will be around 5'9".

    That's tall for a woman. That's not bad. I am 5'11 myself.

  6. I'm 25 and I'm 5'3. I stopped growing at around 13. My mom is 5'9 and my dad is 6'2. My brother is 6'3. I got my height from my dads aunts. This might be your final height especially since your 14.

  7. well when i was 10 i was 4,10 but then at age 12 i was 5,6

  8. eating well, excercising, and getting enough sleep works abreast of your attitude. If you are fully convinced that you are not going to grow any taller, then of course, your thoughts will manifest into reality. Taking into consideration that most of your ancestry falls into the taller end of the spectrume, i would say you have a high chance of growing taller.

  9. Some of it depends on your weight, too.  If you're 70lbs, you'll be about 5'7"... if you're around 100lbs, you'll be about 5'6"...

This is based on the "Kids Height Predictor" at WebMD.com

    http://www.webmd.com/content/tools/1/cal...

I was 9 when I started my menstrual cycle... and I stopped growing when I was about 10, but I did fill out a little more in high school!  You and I are the same height- and I'm 28! LOL

    Hope this helps! :)

  10. everyone's body grows at their own pace so just wait a few more years and since you've had your period for about a year your body still isnt completly changed. you'll probably be at least 5'7 or so because I see that in your family your height is a trait everyone in your family shares.

  11. I've read this as a rule of thumb somewhere but don't remember. boys will be approx 4 inches taller than Mom. girls will be approx 4 inches shorter than Dad.  Not 100% true because my father is 6-2 and I'm 5-5.

At 14 you've got plenty more time to grow.  Try not to worry.
