How tall and how much do u have to weigh to be a coxswain in crew??

Im 5'2 and i weigh 115 pounds am i small enogh to be a coxswain (u know the person who yells stroke) for the guys crew team??

  1. Good answer from Randi Megan. I am 5'3'' weigh around 108. I cox a bow loading women's four-with. As far as your weight, you can choose to gain five or six pounds, or you can just eat a really big meal and drink a lot of water before weigh-ins. That's what I do. I hope you enjoy coxing, it's great!


  2. I cox my universitys novice crew team and i was just asking all these questions when i joined like a month ago...i have never coxed before.

    For a mens team your underweight

    in any mens boat the coxswain should weigh 120 pounds, for more serious races you  will be weighted and if your under they will add sandbags to you rboat to jus even it out.  for womans team a coxswain must be 110 pounds.

    I have never done it before and it's like one of the funniest things i have ever done deff go for it.  I'm 116 and 5'3" so they said before races i have to try and drink alot of water.  I can't think of anyhing more fun then getting to watch the boys in my boat cause they are all so good looking and ripped out in there spandex LOL!
