How tall is a typical south american (esp. Peruvian) person?

I'm a bit worried about towering over them at 5'9".

  1. I'm peruvian and also an Italian descendant, so I'm 6'1". But 65% of the peruvian population isn't European, African or Asian descendants and they're average height is 5'5" and another portion are the "meztisos" but since the spaniards weren't so tall either they could almost fit in the same average height maybe  a little more like 5'7".

    You can say that less than 10% of Peruvians are over 6 feet tall

There are no typical heights...South America has so many other cultures (European, Asian, etc...) mixed in that everyone is different.  My husband is from Lima and he is a mix of Peruvian and Italian and is 5'7" where his father was over 6' as well as his half brother...Are you male or female...if you are male then 5'9" is average and a good height...if you are female than you will be a little taller than the average (I am 5' 8") but trust me it's not that bad...
