  1. He (or his followers) claimed that he was 5'8" tall. But from the imprint of his body left in the bed of Flora MacDonald and checked by Flora's neighbours, it would appear that he was only 5'4".

  2. All I can tell you for certain is that around 1750 the average height of an English man was a mere 5ft.  As human diet and nutrician has improved down the years so the average human height has gradually been increasing.  I'd be surprised if Bonnie Prince Charlie stood at anything above 5" 6' and that would have been well above average for the period.  I don't know of any reliable sources though.

  3. Varying heights have been suggested, mostly being slightly above average for his era, but an indication of his height and stature can be seen in the museum in Fort William where one of the displays is a pair of his trews.  It is also obvious which way he "dressed"!

  4. He was 5ft 1in tall or short if you like.

  5. Contemporary sources notes that Bonnie Prince Charles was "above middle height and very thin."

  6. Two fingers - and I'll take a little soda with it...

  7. as tall as me

  8. He was the same height lying down as he was standing up.

  9. If I remember rightly, he was about 5'6" or 7".
