He is off the chart for height currently...like above the 107th percentile....I am 6ft tall, wife is about 5'3, my dad is 6ft, my uncle is 6'11! My great great grandad was 7ft, heck even my grandma is 6ft 1!!! So we have that tall gene in the family...will he be super tall if he is already off the chart so far like this??

  1. My child was at the 110 percentile at birth and stayed there until he was 4 or 5 years old, then he dropped to the 100 percentile.  At age 10 he dropped to the 75 percentile.  He is 15 and 7 months now and is 5' 9.5".  I've run all the height calculations and he is predicted to be anywhere from 5' 10" to 5' 11.5".  I ran them on myself, my dad is 5'8" and my mom is 5'3".  Based upon all the calculator I should be between 5'8" and 5'9".  I am 5' 11 3/4".  At 16 I was 5'7", again the height calculators at that age predicted I would be 5'8".  So just based on my family the percentile and calculator were not completely accurate, I figure I came out between 2 and 3 inches taller than predicted and assume he will as well.  Like me he hit puberty late, and I think that has some bearing as well.  Heck I grew an inch in my freshman year in college.

  2. I've heard that when a child is 2 years of age, you times thier height by 2, and that is an accurate result of thier height at 21. So for example, if your child grows to be 40 inches tall at 2, then he will be 80 inches at 21, or roughly 6' 8''!
