  1. You have it reversed. Located organisms are applied a taxon.

Taxonomy is the study of identifying and classifying living things by their visible characteristics.  It's a systematic method that can be applied to any living thing.  It's especially useful when trying to describe what a living thing looks like and when trying to tell one species of living thing apart from a somewhat similar living thing.  For example, did you know that there are hundreds of species of grasses?  They may look similar at first glance, but using taxonomy, you can tell them apart fairly quickly.

  3. Taxonomy describes the location of a species in the evolutionary tree of life.  It does not locate the organism in space.

  4. In 7th grade science, I wrote a paper and used the word "organism" like 50 times...except I spelled it "orgasim", which I know its "o****m", but still, you know how embarrassing that was? Now for the rest of my life, every time I hear or read that word that's what I think about...the word is ruined for me =/
