How tell I tell if it's ovulation spotting or abnormal bleeding?

I get a day or two of bleeding about mid cycle, slight discomfort and the blood is pink or brown.

Well it really is different for each woman. I had implantation spotting. I was running out the door and felt something wet and so checked and I had one drop of blood and it was bright red. That was it. I found out about a week later that I was pregnant.
