How the 2011-2012 playoffs picture will be different from the last NBA season? (Part-2)
Memphis Grizzlies:
No one predicted about the Memphis Grizzlies surprising last season’s tremendous performance. The Grizzlies not only played well in the regular season, but qualified into the playoffs with style. They played consistently and showed
the world its huge courage and determination for achieving the desired goal. They started the season with great athleticism and proved difficult for every opponent.
Qualifying as under-dogs, the Grizzlies came out with a winning combination in the post season. They slowly progressed in the competition and impressed early in the first round.
The Grizzlies shattered the San Antonio Spurs in the first round and send the shocked waves across to other competing teams. The Grizzlies continued their tremendous run and pushed the Oklahoma City Thunder into seven games in
their conference semi-finals.
Although, eventually the Thunder defeated the Grizzlies in the end but still the Grizzlies proved their tremendous consistent lethal spirit that was seen by every basketball lover across the world especially across the United State
America (USA).
Zach Randolph was the most prolific player who led the Grizzlies with total commitment and never looked tired in entire season while now he is once again preparing hard to repeat last season’s performance that was proved wonderful
for his team. His consistent performance will also ensure the Grizzlies post-season appearance once again.
New Orleans Hornets:
Last season, New Orleans Hornets qualified for the playoffs as seventh seed from the Western Conference with winning percentage of 0.561. Their road to the post season was relatively smooth but an early defeat in the very first
round ruined them bitterly. The Los Angeles Lakers proved more determined as they easily overpowered the Hornets.
The last season’s defeat could have been a great learning experience for the Hornets but they never tried to learn from their mistakes. The last season’s defeat showed them very clear loop holes in their roster and they should
have taken some steps to improve their roster but the Hornets management is still relying on its only player Chris Paul.
No doubt, he is a wonderful player, but alone he cannot lead his team to the next season’s playoffs. Considering the current Hornets fire power in its roster, it is very difficult for them to play in the playoffs once again.
Portland Trail Blazers:
The Portland Trail Blazers reached the post season in the previous NBA season. But unfortunately they had to play against the in-form Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks gave them no chance and easily edge past the Blazers.
There were possibilities as if the Blazers should have not played with the Mavericks in the first round; they could have played longer in the post season. The Blazers had a very good regular season and played with total commitment.
Although, they were defeated in the very first round but the new season will give them further confidence to play more aggressively next season. LaMarcus Aldridge, Brandon Roy, Nicolas Batum and Marcus Cumby are preparing very
hard this offseason and the Blazers seem optimistic to qualify for the next post season.
