ok here it is

how do you go about doing it? i'm particularly confused about the exclamation point.

here it is:

4^3-4!+4^2-(4-4°)+44/4-(square root of 4)(+1)

it sure is a doozy

/ is 'divided by'

and ^3 means exponent... example ^6= to the 6th power

thanks a lot, it's real confusing

PS it's my math teachers age :0

  1. Well, first the ! means that number times the ones that come before it. so 4!=4*3*2*1=24

    4^3=64

    4!=24

    4^2=16

    4-4^0=3

    44/4=11

    rad(4)=2

    so, 64-24+16-3+11-2+1=63

  2. 63 or 62.  Depending on what the (+1) meant.  If you meant add one then it is 63, if you meant multiply by a positive 1, then 62.  You should pay attention in your math class.

PS, to that person who thought 4^0 was a degree symbol, anything to the 0 power means it is 1.  So 1000000^0=1.

The ! means it a Factorial

    for example

    4! = 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 24

    and

    5! = 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 120

  3. 4! = 4(3)(2)(1)

    3! = 3*2*1

    0! = 1 by definition

    etc

  4. 4! means 4*3*2*1 (of course, *1 doesn't matter, just calculate the rest)

But there's some circle in that (4-4) part, and there should be no such symbol... it's sometimes used for degrees of an angle, but that would not have any meaning in this context.

  5. 4^3 = 64

    4! = 24

    4^2 = 16

    (4 - 4^0) = 4-1 = 3

    44/4 = 11

    sqrt(4)*(+1) = 2

    So in all,

    4^3 - 4! + 4^2 - (4 - 4^0) + 44/4 - sqrt(4)*(+1) =

    64 - 24 + 16 - 3 + 11 - 2 =

    62

Note: I assumed you meant sqrt(4)*(+1).  If it was supposed to be "... -(square root of 4) + 1" then the final answer would be 63 instead of 62.

The exclamation point just means factorial:

    n! = 1*2*3*...*(n-1)*(n)

so n! ("n factorial") just means the product of the first n positive integers.  For example:

    1! = 1

    2! = 1*2 = 2

    ...

    8! = 1*2*...*8 = 40320

    etc.

  6. 64 - 24 - 3 + 11 - 2 + 1

    = 47

  7. Just thought i would throw this in. Google is a calculator! if you expand the factorial and do something with that (+1) i don't know what that is... and have the square root as sqrt 4 it will calculate it all for you ;-)

  8. 63

PS: the ! means it a Factorial

    for example

    4! = 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 24

    and

    5! = 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 120

PPS: and the ° on the 4 is the 0 exponent which translates to 1 no matter what the number is

    for example

    4° = 1

    4321423° = 1

    so

    (4 - 4°) = (4 - 1) = 3

  9. Just work it out 1 step at a time

The ! means factorial, which is the product of 1 through the number. For example 4! is 1x2x3x4=24 and 5! is 1x2x3x4x5=120

I'm not sure what you mean by the degree sign in the 4th term (4-4??)

  10. okay...

    4^3 = 4*4*4

    4! = 4*3*2*1

    4^2 = 4*4

    4° = is this 4^0? if yes, = 1

anyway, i hope this helps... :)
