The game hasn't started yet, so how do you know they will start favourites? Things may change. But if things don't change then they'll stay very much the same.

pies are 5th on the ladder and north melbourne are 7,pies have won the past 3 encounters against north melbourne ( 2 of which were at the MCG ) which is where their playing this weekend.

Looking at those odds, pehaps thats why?

Let me educate you on a couple of things about gambling/betting, i'm not trying to talk down to you, i just don't think you understand the nature of how things work.

First off, it has nothing to do with where coll are on the ladder or north for that matter, its all about  the amount of money wagered on a particular team, collingwood has an enormous supporter base, some of which bet, scary thought hey, the more money laid on one team, the shorter the odds for that team and the further the other teams odds go out.

if collingwood had won 2 games and north, say, 12 games, collingwood through through weight of bets could still start tote favorites, collingwood fans never believe their team can lose, they throw good money after bad all the time, essendon fans are pretty much the same.

that's about it mate, if you think the kanga's will win, put some dosh on them, i might, even though collingwood has had the wood over the roos for a long time now, but that was then, this is now, different teams play each time, so its not really anything to do with it, as i found out when the tigers got smashed by the pies, we have a far better record against them then any other side over the last 14 years, it was 16-7 our fave, now it's 16-8, so you never can tell.

go whack $50 on the roos to win, good odds, you'll collect big mate. if not, big deal you've lost 50 clams.

Pies were impressive the week before against Richmond, but they have a few players out this week. I think the idea is that Collingwood will bounce back hard after last week. People continue to underestimate the Roos, not me though I've tipped em.
