Question:

How the h**l is caring about global warming a "personal decision?"?

people who don't care about it contribute to everyone else's doom. it shouldn't be a personal decision at all! it should be mandatory!

and just about everybody who knows what they are talking about believes it is real. yes, that means scientists. h**l, even government officials say it's real. and they're stingy!

and all each person really needs to do to helps prevent it is switch to energy efficient lightbulbs and carpool. is that really so hard?

of course, the government actually has to regulate factory CO2 emmisions too, but still, the regular people need to help as well.

  1. I agree with you- it shouldn't be a personal decision. You shouldn't have to "choose whether you wont to help stop global warming or not." This is a global effort!! We will die out (most likeley) it we don't stop sending carbon everywhere!!

  2. i made it my personal decision to do nothing.

why because it is not my problem.

the problem is the politicians that have let the people down.

    s***w you car pool.

just like the politician have screwed us and put us in this position.

they let our jobs go overseas. and let the illegals come into the country and take the rest

i am not going to bend over d take it any more.

    s***w global warming.

if the government wants to fix it let them pay for it.

    i already have the light-bulbs

and the only place i drive my car to is the doctors.

and to places i want to go.

and don't tell me that is should car pool to those places because the is no car pools

    also no buses or trains.

i am just going to fallow what my neighbor who it a big time sierra cluber does.

about ever two weeks he takes off to a lake about 90 miles away in his 40 foot MOTOR HOME to go camping.

i am disabled so i will do what i feel like.

  3. Prove to me that Global warming, caused by humans even exists. Global warmign is a cycle... and if bob answers thi post, i am completely opposite him =[]... Anyway it is a personal decision because governments can't force people to buy the greener but generally more expensive stuff.

Governements although can provide subsidies to make green products cost the same or spend money on developing cheaper green technologies, but in the mean time, the majority of people will keep buying whatever is cheapest.

  4. because most of what you have to do isn't made into laws yet saying you have to, and you know what some people just dint care, pity.

  5. well hot beach chick08...  Im going to assume you have done no reasearch, other than watching the inconvienient truth, and the millions of propaganda "news" articles...

It should be mandatory that people like you dont have an opinion on it.  I bet you are some 17 year old blonde girl that doesnt have a clue about the rock that we are hurling through space on..

If you really think switching to energy efficient lightbulbs and carpooling will save the earth than I truely feel sorry for you.  Your lightbulbs use about 10% of your homes electricity if you have the usual barage of consumer electronics like a tv (or 4), a refridgerator, plugged in all the time.

Carpooling is pretty much ineffective because  90% of the time, you arent going the same place as someone else you know, and no one wants to drive around and make extra stops, picking people up, idling in their driveway waiting for their slow ***, and then your gas mileage goes down because you are carrying an extra 600 pounds around in your car.

If you ever do you own research instead of just drinking the kool-aid that the media is handing out, than maybe you will one day understand that co2 has very very little effect on the climate, as seen on this ice core graph that the scientists hold soo dearly.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Vosto...

Look closely, during the depths of the ice age, we were at 180 ppm of co2, and it was about 8 degrees (C) cooler than it is today.  When the co2 level increased to 280 ppm, the temperatures are at modern levels.  Yet, the co2 level has increased to around 380 ppm today, and so far, the hottest it has been was .6 degrees (C) above average...  Do you see where I am coming from?  I know this ice core was from antarctica, but it should still show an accurate representation of the climate.  Why hasnt the increase to 380 ppm made it like 8 degrees (C) warmer yet?

James Hansen,  the global warming poster child, said the changes in the earths orbit are not causing the ice ages, it is the co2 level alone.  The graph, and the real observations made today says that is total BULL.

  6. It's not.  The data clearly proves global warming is NOT a natural cycle.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

    summarized at:

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu...

EVERY major scientific organization says global warming is real, and mostly caused by us.

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know...  Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point.  You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

    Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

  7. Who is better able to make decisions than the person involved.  Certainly not the government, just look at all of the disasters that have followed any attempt by governments to dictate behaviour.

  8. thanks for forcing your opinion on me. thats the american way alright. exactly how are you not forcing your personal decision to contribute to my doom???? do you drive a car? do you heat and cool your home? do you write on paper? do you flush your toilet? do you push your trash to the curb?

i thought so. when you eliminate these activities from your life, you have no say in what happens in mine. to read your rant, you obviously have no idea what the american way is. do you really think that more factories need to regulate emissions? which ones emit the emissions? why should they employ you or me? just move to mexico or china or india where they can eliminate the worry over emissions, leaving us both with NO jobs.
