There is an idea that life on earth came from comets when they crashed into the newly formed earth billions of years ago, this idea is called Panspermia or something like that i personal don't think that is how life came to be on this planet but i have been known to be wrong in the past, as for humans (H.Sapiens) we just developed from early primate hominids 3 1/2 million years ago, and we have been destroying ourselves ever since.
