How the sewerage system works in Venice?

Question

if some one can explain that that the Venice is running on Canals so how the city is kept clean, and especially how the sewrage system works.... if some one can share a personal experience from Venice it ll be our great pleasure ?

Venice does not have a sewage system. I spent about a week there and the water was disgusting! Their sewage system is nothing more then a pipe from the toilet that leads into the canal water, seriously.

The tidal currents are what is supposed to "flush the canals" however it barely works at all. The water is very polluted there.

Who says the city is kept clean?  Those canals have centuries of sludge.
