  1. Which one? The Starship Enterprise? It never takes off, it orbits planets and the crew beam down to the surface.

  2. If you mean how we landed and took off from the moon, to basically say it a lander was ejected from the main ship, it used its limited fuel supply to lower down safely to the surface, they walked around, then the landers second fuel supply lifted its pod (the lander minus the landing gear) up and it docked with the ship.

  3. Depends on race, ship type and tech. level:

Goa'uld mothership (Stargate): Searching for a pyramid for landing and take-off. No pyramids = no landing => no take-off

    Plausibility: None

Klingons (star trek) / Raptor class:

Take off: No matter, starting like a Harrier jet

Landing: Get down with full speed and in case of a crash they will be honored by other Klingons for being so fearless.

    Plausibility: None

    Ferengi (TNG / DS9) / D'Kora-class starship:

They will buy / cheat someone to do the landing / take off J

    Plausibility: Not tested yet

A long-range spaceship we could build at present tech. level would neither be able to take off from nor to land on a planet's surface. The first needs too much energy and the last could work but makes no sense if you haven't a chance to take off again.

  4. press the ignition button then press land button
