  1. 1. Jermaine Lawson (West Indies)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jermaine_La...

    2. Merv Hughes (Australia)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merv_Hughes

    How are they related:

    a. Both are right arm fast bowlers

    b. Both have taken test match hat-tricks against each other countries in their own respective country, i.e.:

Lawson got a hat-trick against Australia in 2003/04, claiming the wickets of Brett Lee, Stuart MacGill and Justin Langer, and a haul of 7/78 against Australia which was instrumental in the West Indian victory in the final Test of that series.

Whereas, Merv Hughes took a hat trick in a Test against the West Indies at the WACA in 1988-89 and went on to take 8-87

  2. Jermaine Lawson on the left, Merv Hughes on the right

Both claimed hat-trick across 2 seperate innings, Lawson claiming Lee and McGill with his last 2 balls of the first innings and Langer first ball of the second

Merv's is the most unique test hat trick in history as it is the only hat-trick to be taken in 3 seperate overs! the first wicket (Ambrose) was last ball of his 16th (i dont know if it was his 16th, its just the example i am using), then dismissed Paterson first ball of his 17th, then dismissed Greenidge with the first ball of his 1st over in the 2nd innings

Courtney Walsh is the only other person to take a hat-trick over 2 seperate innings
