I have to buy volleyball kneepads and I was just wondering how tight do I want them to be? Are they supposed to be hard to slide off? I have tried on all of the sizes but since I've never played volleyball before I don't really know what I'm doing.

thanks

  1. you want your kneepads to be tight enought that they are hard to slide off...but you dont want them cutting off your circulation

  2. Kneepads restrict your movement at first. That's because they haven't been broken in yet. It's like how new shoes are tighter than they are after you've run in them for a month. Kneepads should feel tight to the point where you can still bend your knees without effort. It's hard to figure out when you're buying kneepads because you don't how much they'll loosen, but it's the same thing as buying a shirt a little bigger for you because you'll know it shrinks.

  3. you dont want them to slide off but you also dont want them to affect your movement or cut off circulation

you should still be able to do every movement easily...i would just say go with what feels the best

  4. you want your kneepads to be tight enough so they won't slide off. cuz during a game or anything your prolly gonna have to slide on your knees alot to hit the ball.

  5. you want them tight enough to stay on but not tight were your legs can't breath!!!! they shouldnt effect your movement. i am a back row player and i dive and run all the time and my knee pads are nice and tite but easy to take on and off. You can ask your caoch if you want!

  6. I think the knee pads should be tight a enough, and you need to do a little practice and I can gave you a tip that you have to blend your knees a lot in volley ball to get the ball up like you want to.

  7. Technically you don't really need kneepads.  As a player you want to be able to get to the ball without diving.  I played from the age of 12-22 and stopped wearing kneepads around the age of 16.  So don't rely on them when you dive.  They are restrictive and annoying.  If your coach says you don't need to wear them, I wouldn't.  You should dive sideways and only forwards when you truly cannot get to the ball.  But, if you are wearing them, you don't want them to be so tight that you're restricting circulation...
