I'd like to know how to avoid your jewelry turning your skin green.

I already know about using clear nail polish, but this is a temporary solution.

ASIDE from buying "better jewelry", what can I do?

I thought of having it coated with a different metal, but that's fairly expensive. Is there any other alternative?

  1. you must be allergic to something in the jewelry.

  2. it turns your skin green because maybe you were wearing it while in the shower or pool or something?

    dont get your jewelry wet!

  3. Wear the jewelry for as short of period as possible. Otherwise, you'll have to stick with buying high quality jewelry, its a skin reaction that's causing it.

Even lower 14ka gold can cause a reaction, some women need to have at least 18ka or even 24ka.

  4. Well you could take it off every night before you go to bed.... that's what i did....... well I dont know what else to do.....

  5. thing is you say it's not fake but jewellery that turns your skin green tends to be dodgy. try looking for a hallmark that will tell you what it's made of. zinc and nickel give me a reaction but that comes out as eczema, and its copper that usually leaves skin a green colour

  6. As fine gold jewelry retailer, we see this happen sometimes to a small percentage of our customers.

The 1st answer you received may be the most accurate. It has to do with acidity in your body. This causes a reaction with one of the metals in the jewelry.

We have seen this occur even on high end jewelry to a small percentage of customers -- but more on white gold due to the nickel content of white gold. Some people have allergic or acidic reactions to nickel, silver, or any of the baser metals.

  7. mamamia is right google alkaline foods and start eating as much of this as you can.  There are lots of benefits to having higher alkaline levels than just green skin.

  8. this is a chemical reaction - you have too much acid in your body ( its from what you eat that causes this....evaluate your eating and you may find the trigger
