  1. well, first, keep both hands on the wheel. some people think you're supposed to put your arm behind the passenger seat as you turn around - this isnt true.

and no, you're meant to turn your head when backing up. you can usually occasionally glance at the mirror, but only if there's actual obstructions in your mirror's view.

in other words, if all is clear and the road is good and wide, stick to looking through the back window over your shoulder. go slow and steady and try to keep your hands still so the car does not weave left and right. keep the gas at a smooth steady speed, no fast-slow-fast-slow type of deal.

  2. Well basically, you will want to accelerate a bit; if it is a downslope then you may not need to accelerate.

Put your left hand at 12 o'clock on the steering wheel, put your right hand behind the passenger's head rest, and look right in-between the seats out the rear window.

Only make small corrections in the steering if you notice you aren't going completely straight.

Use the side of the road/middle paint of the road as a guideline.

Lol, guess I would fail that.

  3. Alright, so you are driving forward in a straight line.  You stop, put it in reverse and go.  You kind of have to accelerate or you won't go anywhere. You put your hands on the steering wheel.  And no, you are never allowed to look in the mirrors, you have to use your ESP to make sure you don't back into anyone.

  4. IMO you should learn with your mirrors, because this will also keep your head forward, your eyes forward.

don't accelerate, let your foot off the brake easy
